Muli Bwanji?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>How are you today?<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for visiting the ZAMBIAN LIVES Portrait Series Videoblog, a place where I will occasionally post a new short video portrait from Zambia.<\/p>\n<p>To start with, here is a little information from *wikipedia about this beautiful country in central southern Africa.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b>Zambia<\/b>\u00a0\/\u02c8z\u00e6mbi\u0259\/, officially the\u00a0<b>Republic of Zambia<\/b>, is a\u00a0landlocked country\u00a0in\u00a0<a title=\"Southern Africa\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Southern_Africa\" rel=\"noreferrer\" data-jsbprepared=\"rb8xnaujkh\">southern Africa<\/a>. The neighbouring countries are the\u00a0<a title=\"Democratic Republic of the Congo\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Democratic_Republic_of_the_Congo\" rel=\"noreferrer\" data-jsbprepared=\"rb8xnaujkh\">Democratic Republic of the Congo<\/a>\u00a0to the north,\u00a0<a title=\"Tanzania\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tanzania\" rel=\"noreferrer\" data-jsbprepared=\"rb8xnaujkh\">Tanzania<\/a>\u00a0to the north-east,\u00a0<a title=\"Malawi\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Malawi\" rel=\"noreferrer\" data-jsbprepared=\"rb8xnaujkh\">Malawi<\/a>\u00a0to the east,\u00a0<a title=\"Mozambique\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mozambique\" rel=\"noreferrer\" data-jsbprepared=\"rb8xnaujkh\">Mozambique<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Zimbabwe\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zimbabwe\" rel=\"noreferrer\" data-jsbprepared=\"rb8xnaujkh\">Zimbabwe<\/a>,\u00a0<a title=\"Botswana\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Botswana\" rel=\"noreferrer\" data-jsbprepared=\"rb8xnaujkh\">Botswana<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a title=\"Namibia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Namibia\" rel=\"noreferrer\" data-jsbprepared=\"rb8xnaujkh\">Namibia<\/a>\u00a0to the south, and\u00a0<a title=\"Angola\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Angola\" rel=\"noreferrer\" data-jsbprepared=\"rb8xnaujkh\">Angola<\/a>\u00a0to the west. The capital city is\u00a0<a title=\"Lusaka\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lusaka\" rel=\"noreferrer\" data-jsbprepared=\"rb8xnaujkh\">Lusaka<\/a>, located in the south-central part of the country. The population is concentrated mainly around Lusaka in the south and the\u00a0<a title=\"Copperbelt Province\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Copperbelt_Province\" rel=\"noreferrer\" data-jsbprepared=\"rb8xnaujkh\">Copperbelt Province<\/a>\u00a0to the northwest. [&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>The territory of what is now Zambia was known as\u00a0<a title=\"Northern Rhodesia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Northern_Rhodesia\" rel=\"noreferrer\" data-jsbprepared=\"rb8xnaujkh\">Northern Rhodesia<\/a>\u00a0from 1911. It was renamed Zambia on the occasion of its independence, in 1964. The new name of Zambia was derived from the\u00a0<a title=\"Zambezi\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zambezi\" rel=\"noreferrer\" data-jsbprepared=\"rb8xnaujkh\">Zambezi<\/a>\u00a0river [&#8230;],\u00a0which flows through the western region of the country and forms its southern border.\u00a0[&#8230;]<\/p>\n<p>In 2010, the\u00a0<a title=\"World Bank\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/World_Bank\" rel=\"noreferrer\" data-jsbprepared=\"rb8xnaujkh\">World Bank<\/a>\u00a0named Zambia one of the world&#8217;s fastest economically reformed countries. The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (<a title=\"COMESA\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/COMESA\" rel=\"noreferrer\" data-jsbprepared=\"rb8xnaujkh\">COMESA<\/a>) is headquartered in Lusaka.\u00a0[&#8230;] *<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Not only this thriving economical development, which brings numberless changes to all levels of society, makes it interesting to observe life here in Zambia. The nature of this country&#8217;s people \u2013 more than 70 different tribes! \u2013 who are exceptionally welcoming,\u00a0hospitable,\u00a0warm-hearted, open-minded and interested, makes it a joy to venture out, meet with and getting to know them.<\/p>\n<p>From these enriching personal experiences, I derived the idea for this project. I feel an urge to share the stories that I am confronted with and give people a voice, who seldom have that chance.<\/p>\n<p>As this is a private project, the amount of resources my partners and I can dedicate to it vary and are probably never close to satisfying a professional level of quality and sophistication and will\u00a0unequivocally lead to a slower release of new films than we wish for, but I hope that I can build at least a small collection of portraits and thus paint an authentic picture of what Zambian lives are like.<\/p>\n<p>Feel free to check for new posts, subscribe to the Newsfeed and leave a comment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>How are you today?
